Ohio Law and Findlay Court Cases
Child custody in Findlay cases is governed by ORC Chapter 3109. The court uses the best interest of the child standard. It looks at the child's wishes if old enough, each parent's mental and physical health, the child's adjustment to home and school, and whether either parent has a history of domestic violence. Ohio prefers shared parenting plans when both parents can cooperate.
Child support follows a formula based on both parents' incomes. Modifications can be requested when circumstances change. Spousal support is up to the judge and depends on the length of the marriage, earning capacity, and the standard of living during the marriage. Protection orders fall under ORC Chapter 3113 and create separate records in the system.
